Due to the strong demand from the Far East (especially from China), the service and trading company Hardenberg & Schmidt GmbH & Co KG, based in our main factory in Neuwied, was formed in 1998 from the cooperation between the companies Schmidt GmbH Neuwied and Hardenberg Holzhandels GmbH Northeim. Today, Hardenberg & Schmidt GmbH & Co. KG is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Schmidt GmbH.

International log trade

The main sales products are all domestic logs from Germany and neighboring countries.

Every year, an export volume of approx. 1,500-2,000 overseas containers of round timber to China is achieved via H&S and expertly handled.

A corresponding volume is also sold in Europe.

In the years 2021-2022, this figure increased fivefold to almost 10,000 containers per year due to the bark beetle infestation of domestic spruce stands.

With Mr. Jörg Schmidt and his team, you will be looked after by recognized timber experts. Mr. Jürgen Schmidt, who has many years of import and export experience, is available to you for any necessary letter of credit and financial processing.

Containers and loading

Do you need containers and loading teams? No problem! We organize the loading of your goods and provide the appropriate containers and, of course, the loading teams.

On request, we can organize the transport of your goods to the relevant port of export in Europe and take care of the booking and reservation of shipping space. Naturally CIF worldwide port of destination.
